What’s right with our Clients?

As a Job Developer who meets with employers to inform them about the Richmond Youth Service Agency employment services, one of the first questions I am usually asked is “what is wrong with your clients?” and the second: “why do you need to help them with employment?"

This is when I get the opportunity to brag a bit and tell employers that it is not what is wrong with our clients, it is what is right with our clients!

Our clients are aware that times have changed and that today there is so much you need to be aware of when applying for work. Good employement skills involve preparing your cover letter and resume professionally, networking, volunteering, job searching and dressing for success. At the Richmond Youth Service Agency we prepare our clients with all of the above, taking them through mock interviews, cold calling and fully supporting them through this sometimes stressful time in their lives.

After clients have found employment RYSA continues to follow up with both the client and sometimes the employer for any further support which may be needed.

I tell my clients that the toughest job they will ever have is looking for a job. They must be willing to stay focused and committed to help themselves succeed. Our clients understand that they are a crucial part of their own success.
