Cathy Arrigo was born in Vancouver, grew up in Australia, and returned to Canada in 1991. In 1986, she began working with entrenched teens in Kings Cross, Australia. Since then, she has worked in social services for the past 21 years in many capacities, with a variety of population groups. Cathy began working at RYSA in early 2008 after working for the past 11 years for another Vancouver agency.

Cathy has an extensive education background as she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology from University of New England, Australia. She also has a diploma in journalism from Australian College of Journalism and another diploma in counseling from Kwantlen Polytech University. In addition, Cathy has also spent 2 years in Forensic Psychology at UBC.

Cathy is inspired to stay in the field because she believes that one person can make a difference.
